Apple Tree Centerpiece of Williamsburg

If you want a spectacular table or the most impressive gift; regal is the word describing this beauty.  Colonial Virginians set their tables as a mark of staus-just as the Britons of their homeland; iimitating the aristocratic decor and customs of Europe as best they could in the wild new world.  Cone centerpieces traditionally of exotic fruits and delicate sweets were instead made using apples, oranges, limes, etc. of the area.  Lovely in any fruit and shown here in apples and limes with bits of holly amongst fresh boxwood.
