Good Old Days Florist

Flower Delivery

Flower delivery is a core service provided by florists. People normally look at their assortment of flower arrangements online or in-store. Clients’ purchases are then delivered to a recipient’s office or home address. Dedicated to giving customer satisfaction, florists put in the time to talk about their needs. They offer clients only the most fantastic flowers and arrangements. This means seeing to it that they last for more than just a couple of days. And every floral designer knows that striving to keep flowers fresh is and should be their # 1 priority.

Proper Storage In-Store and Before Delivery

One of the most practical methods to enjoy lasting flowers is to keep them cool. It’s also ideal to store them out of direct daylight. To make that happen, most, if not all, florists keep at least one fridge cooler in their shop. This keeps their inventory of flowers cool and fresh. Other folks even invest in specific storage equipment to keep their floral goods at a fresh 36-46 ° F. Florists also place completed arrangements in a cooler prior to delivery or pick-up. This retains the flowers in good shape until they make it to the customer or recipient. A lot of bigger stores also purchase cooling vans or temperature control devices. With temps at 36-46 ° F, floral orders stay fresh despite long-distance rides. Many flower shops also provide same-day delivery in their local area and close-by towns. So, customers can send lovely arrangements to their loved ones in as fast as a couple hours!

Development of Flower Delivery

Along with working their store, florists take orders from customers. They also consult customers about requests they have for large events and very special holidays. Prior to the web, a lot of the flower shop’s customers were walk-ins and cellphone calls. These customers often wanted a single bouquet or arrangement delivered that exact same day. Nowadays, clients occasionally place large orders or custom-made floral arrangements. These are normally unique to functions like:

  • a wedding
  • a fantastic party
  • holiday bash
  • a celebration of life.

After getting their orders, florists produce the designs depending on the client’s needs. These purchase orders are then either prepared for pick-up or sent out for delivery.
Who Does the Flower Delivery?

Florists are in charge of developing and putting together floral arrangements for their customers. Flower delivery drivers then pick up floral orders at flower stores and deliver them. Flower delivery positions are usually entry-level roles, so no prior experience is needed. But at a minimum, they should hold a valid driver’s license and a flawless driving record. Most floral shops use box trucks to deliver their products to clients. Drivers must know how to steer and care for these vans. The typical outline of a flower delivery drivers’ tasks are:

  • Placing flower arrangements inside the delivery vehicle
  • Checking for any damages informing the florist about any problems
  • Taking floral arrangements to customers’ or their recipients’ offices or homes
  • Sometimes, requesting the recipient’s signature as proof of delivery

Besides that, drivers also help out in the shop or storehouse. These include unpacking deliveries of flower supplies. They might also help the staff organize floral products in the stockroom.
